Nationwide Retail Windows® Upgrade & Deployment
Our customer, a national luxury retail brand, faced the critical need to migrate from a legacy Microsoft Windows OS to Windows' latest OS across its U.S. and Canadian store network. The initiative involved over one-thousand endpoints requiring either complete hardware replacement or OS migrations, all while maintaining store operations without disruption.
TDX Tech delivered a turnkey solution including project management, hardware procurement, technology deployment, and asset disposition services.
Key Project Requirements & Deliverables:
- Dedicated project management team to coordinate scheduling, imaging, logistics, and incident handling.
- Deployment of on-site technicians equipped with necessary tools and instructions.
- Two upgrade paths:
- New equipment procurement, deployment, installation, and installation/configuration of new Windows OS.
- In-place OS upgrades - migration of existing systems per customer-provided specifications.
- On-site quality assurance, post-upgrade support, and documented sign-off by store management
- Use of TDX Tech's proprietary WebTrax system for:
- Real-time scheduling and technician tracking.
- Deliverable verification (photos, signed work orders).
- Online reporting dashboards.
Legacy Equipment Disposition:
- Equipment shipped to TDX Tech's US Midwest-based headquarters.
- Serial number audits for all returned hardware components.
- Certified data cleansing to DoD standards.
- Equipment ownership transfer for secure recycling or resale.
TDX Tech successfully executed the Windows OS upgrades across a broad retail footprint, coordinating the upgrade of over a thousand machines. Real-time tracking, disciplined project management, and expert technical execution enabled smooth transitions at each store location. The engagement concluded with all systems verified operational and all legacy equipment properly decommissioned, enabling the customer to move forward on a stable and supportable Windows OS platform.
