Cabling and Network Infrastructure for ½ Million Square Foot Distribution Center
Our customer, a National Flooring Distributor, contacted TDX Tech to assist with the installation of cabling and network infrastructure for their new ~460,000 square foot distribution center. The new facility will be serving as a shipping hub to support their 400+ stores, nationwide.
With our project team and field technicians working as an extension of our customer’s technology team, we project-managed the installation of an Armored Fiber Backbone, multiple IDF (intermediate distribution frame) and 2-Post racks, and over 170 Cat6 cable drops.
The fiber and copper infrastructure will support MDF (main distribution frame) and IDF interconnectivity and provide data to a myriad of network devices, including APs (access-points), surveillance cameras, office PCs and more.
Key installation requirements:
- Project management and comprehensive network technician services.
- Installation of a 6-strand OM4 Armored Fiber Backbone.
- Interconnection of MDF and IDF(s) via LC panel connectors.
- Fiber runs to surveillance cameras.
- Multiple access point data drops (cabling, drop poles, etc.).
- Over 170 Cat6 cable drops.
- Installation of related infrastructure (ladder-racking, cable-management, etc.).
Our team was able to install our customer’s network infrastructure quickly, on time, and within budget. Our performance allowed construction to continue as scheduled, and more importantly, for the distribution center to be fully operational by the specified target date.
