SUMMARY

The person recruited to this position will play a significant role as one of our corporate field technicians.  We are looking for a detailed oriented person with a broad range of technician experiences, with a strong work ethic, the ability to communicate effectively, and learn quickly.  The ideal candidate will have experience or education in each of these areas and possess the ability to learn and comprehend quickly.  The position will require travel up to 80% and will require customer facing work.  It is anticipated that this position will involve working with a wide range of clients, partners, and technologies.

The technician will travel and be responsible for ensuring technician services are completed successfully at a client sites, with a focus on retail, financial, and hospitality industries.  This position will complete the services or lead the successful completion of services by partners.  In addition, continue to further establish customer relationships in the field at customer locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for technician services and completion of all technician work activities and providing status reports.
  • Services may include, but not limited to:
    • Cat5e/Cat6 network cabling and terminations
    • POS Installation
    • IT Room build-out
    • Fiber termination
    • Access Point installs
  • Manage on location day-to-day technical aspects of projects as led by the corporate Project Management team.
  • Must be willing and able to operate a lift.
  • Must be willing and able to operate a variety of tools.
  • Collaborate with team members on technical requirements within and across projects.
  • Work with customers, project managers, and technical staff to design, develop and enhance technician service solutions and procedures.
  • Understand business objectives of assigned projects.
  • Work independently on projects and follow through completion.
  • Work on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adapt to new technology solutions utilized by clients.
  • Travel up to 80% of time to North American client locations, as needed.
  • Interact professionally with fellow employees, clients, and vendors.
  • Corporate duties (non-travel dates) will include remote technical support of field technicians, in-house equipment repair, and warehouse services (equipment locating).

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a variety of audiences.
  • Superior interpersonal skills necessary to communicate complex information to various internal and external personnel in a clear, concise and well organized fashion.
  • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • High level of detail orientation necessary to document, train, and support executed technical phases of customer projects.
  • Exceptionally self-motivated and directed.
  • Passion for travel and enjoy working on different job sites every week.
  • Must be comfortable with fast-paced, entrepreneurial corporate culture and the standards and work ethic consistent with that environment.
  • Ability to create and sustain a positive environment for customers and associates through leadership, proper training and coaching.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Network cabling and infrastructure experience.
  • Experience with Point of Sale hardware.
  • Possess a strong knowledge of operating procedures and systems and ability to ensure procedures and systems are being followed.
  • Successful independent management experience with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing successful solutions.
  • Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously.
